Clara Hughes
This March, Clara Hughes begins her 110-day, 12,000 km ride around Canada to help raise awareness and action in mental health and reduce the stigma around mental illness including events in Oshawa and Whitby.
During Clara’s Big Ride for Bell Let’s Talk, this six-time Olympic cycling and speed-skating medalist will invite people in communities large and small into the mental health conversation and share her own story of mental health challenges during special community events.
Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences and Ontario Shores Foundation for Mental Health are welcoming Clara and the community to a Skate with Clara event at the Legends Centre (1661 Harmony Road North) in Oshawa on Friday, March 21. This event (7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.) will feature a free community skate, mental health information, free face-painting and hot chocolate and visits from special celebrity guests.
