Ontario Shores to Unveil Ambassadors of Hope in Celebration of 100 Years of Providing Care

Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores) is set to begin its year-long celebration recognizing 100 years of delivering mental health care.

The specialty mental health hospital will officially turn 100 on October, 23, 2019.

In the 12 months leading up to this milestone, Ontario Shores will engage staff, patients, volunteers, community partners and the general public in a series of events and initiatives which promote the hospital’s role in the community and ignites conversations around mental illness.

At Tuesday’s event Ontario Shores’ will unveil its 100 year celebration brand as well its Ambassadors of Hope.

Last summer, nearly 50 individuals from the community each with their own unique connections to mental health applied to be considered for the role of Ambassador of Hope.

Applicants included patients, family members, staff members, retired staff, volunteers and community leaders.

During the 12 months leading up Ontario Shores’ 100th anniversary, Ambassadors will represent the hospital by attending events, and sharing their lived experience and passion for mental health.
