Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores) is thrilled to be named a Greater Toronto Area Top Employer for the fourth straight year.

Today, Ontario Shores was among select organizations named one of Greater Toronto's Top Employers for 2020 following a competition that evaluated employers on several criteria including work atmosphere, vacation benefits, training and development, financial and health benefits, physical environment, and community involvement.

“We are incredibly proud to receive this recognition once again,” says Karim Mamdani, President and CEO, Ontario Shores.  “This honour reflects the collective efforts of our team to create and sustain a healthy, happy and recovery-focused environment that is experienced by staff, volunteers, patients and guests each day.”

Ontario Shores has become known for its positive workplace culture, employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and opportunities for growth and development.

Most notably, Ontario Shores launched an Eat Well, Live Well program this past year which offers a variety of healthy food options in its cafeteria such as smoothies, salads and hot entrees.   Ontario Shores also launched a new program to provide psychotherapy services to staff.

This award also follows Ontario Shores’ recent celebration of providing 100 years of specialized mental health care.

In its 14th year of recognizing employers who foster a culture which creates and maintains a desirable workplace, the competition has become a benchmark for organizations striving for excellence.

Ontario Shores and its fellow recipients were officially unveiled in Toronto and are featured in a special magazine in The Globe and Mail.
