WHITBY, Ontario ― Joanne Jones, Clinical Manager of the Integrated Community Access Program at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores), has been awarded the prestigious Leadership Award in Nursing Education (Staff Development) by the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO).
The RNAO Recognition Awards are presented annually to recognize individuals and groups that make significant contributions to RNAO's mandate: Speaking Out for Nursing. Speaking Out for Health. The awards foster excellence in the nursing profession and promote the profession to the public by highlighting the best of nursing practice, education, research, administration and policy. Jones’ award specifically recognizes her premier leadership and excellence as a nursing educator.

“This award is a remarkable achievement and I am delighted that Joanne is receiving this recognition,” said Dr. Barbara Mildon, Vice-President, Professional Practice and Research, and Chief Nurse Executive. “Joanne’s leadership shines in all she does and her brilliant education work has touched every clinical staff person at Ontario Shores as well as countless others through her presentations in Canada and around the world.”
