September 07, 2012

The Board of Directors of Ontario Shores Foundation for Mental Health (Ontario Shores Foundation) is pleased to welcome Neil Hannam to the role of Executive Director.

Mr. Hannam’s 15-year career includes leadership roles within healthcare, community development and the public sector at the regional, provincial and international level. Prior to joining Ontario Shores Foundation, Mr. Hannam was the Executive Director at Campbellford Memorial Hospital Foundation where he led capital campaigns, solicited major gifts and established fundraising partnerships.
“Neil brings extensive philanthropic experience, a passion for mental health care and spirit of collaboration to his role,” says Dan Carter, Board Chair of the Foundation.  “We are excited to work with Neil, the Foundation team and our partners to build on the important work of our Foundation and support programs that address the mental health well-being of our communities.”

In 2010, Mr. Hannam partnered with a fundraising counsel and market research company to complete the first Canada-wide study on best practices regarding donor stewardship. He is currently establishing a national study on organizational sustainability and best practices during uncertain economic times. He is also very active in his community through several volunteer positions and mentorship roles.
“I’m thrilled to join such an innovative and evolving organization,” says Neil Hannam, Executive Director of the Foundation. “There is a growing need for increased mental health care services and I look forward to working with our staff and communities to strengthen care and support advances in research and academics.”

Together with the Ontario Shores Foundation team, Mr. Hannam will develop new strategies to raise funds for a number of priorities for Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores) including adolescent services, dementia care, research and innovation, mental health awareness and recovery-focused facilities.
