Forensic consultation services are provided to all programs at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores). These services include clinical referrals and clinical inpatient services. Consultation services are also offered to jails, detention centres and other forensic programs across Ontario.
Education sessions and workshops are provided to staff throughout Ontario Shores. In addition, a strong community-based education program has been implemented, including presentations to legal counsels, judges, jail and detention centre staff and police officers.
Research is a priority in the Forensic Program, and a number of ongoing research projects are in place. Forensic staff at Ontario Shores also lead or participate in numerous presentations at provincial, national and international conferences.
