Psychiatric Rehabilitation B (PRB)
Psychiatric Rehabilitation B (PRB) is an open unit at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores) for stabilized patients who face major barriers to community living and who require ongoing support and recovery-oriented care. Clinical interventions are provided by an interprofessional healthcare team and are individualized and group-oriented. Interventions provided on this unit are aimed at involving patients in programs that help them to manage their psychiatric symptoms, modify some behaviors and improve the social and personal skills, which are important for community living.

- Group oriented-programming
- Assistance with social and personal skills
- Symptom management
Eligibility:
Individuals 18 to 65 years old with severe and persistent mental illness who have not responded to psychiatric treatment, including brief hospitalization, and who have not been able to maintain supported community living.
How to access this service
Patients are referred by general hospitals and Ontario Shores inpatient care units.
