Vocational Rehabilitation

Employment and Rehabilitation Services

Vocational and Adult Education services provides individual assessment, career and education counselling, skills training, and community employment opportunities for both inpatients and outpatients in a welcoming and recovery- oriented environment.  Services include:

  • Individual vocational and education assessments
  • Supported Education Program (OSSEP) for persons 21 years and older (ESL, academic upgrading, high-school credits, and post-secondary)
  • Job Preparation, Resume, Interview workshops
  • Job Development and Job Coaching (Ontario Shores is an approved ODSP Service Provider)
  • Computer training
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate program
  • SafeAbility™ – health and safety training program
  • Individual Work Placement programs in hospital
  • New Directions - Psycho-Social day program in partnership with Durham Mental Health Services
