Determinants of GAF scores in inpatient SMI population

Abstract: This study will enhance Ontario Shores’ use of the GAF scores for monitoring and improving quality and performance. In order to determine whether GAF scores are constant for certain groupings over time, the study will describe time trends of inpatient GAF scores over a 4.5 year period. It will also test and provide an estimate of the relative impacts of a number of factors on the GAF scores, including diagnosis, functioning level, unit/program, and rater. Additionally, the individual factors will be analyzed to determine the amount of variance each accounts for in GAF scores.
