Barbara Cooney, Board Member at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores), is a retired healthcare executive with more than 30 years experience in hospitals, consulting and Community Care Access Centre environments. Trained as a nurse, Ms. Cooney attained a Bachelor of Arts (Commerce) and a Master of Health Science (Administration) from the University of Toronto.

Ms. Cooney has been recognized for her strategic planning and leadership skills in organizational change, which include restructuring, redesign and relocation. She currently supports her community in various capacities and is a past Board Member of the United Way – Ajax, Pickering and Uxbridge.
