Dr. Ron Keren
Dr. Ron Keren is the Clinical Director of the Memory Clinic at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores). He also holds a number of other appointments, including Interim Medical Director of the Geriatric Rehabilitation Program at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Clinical Director for the University Health Network Medical Clinic and Outpatient Consultant Geriatric Psychiatrist for the Regional Geriatrics Program Clinic at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. Dr. Keren is also involved with the Psychogeriatric programs at both University Health Network and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute as a psychogeriatric consultant and staff psychiatrist, respectively. In addition to these appointments, Dr. Keren is an assistant professor with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. In 2009, he was awarded the Alzheimer Society of Canada Special Recognition Award. Dr. Keren is currently the principle investigator for three clinical drug trials. Two of these are Elan/Wyeth sponsored drug trials being conducted at Ontario Shores with Alzheimer’s patients. The other is a Bristol-Myers Squibb funded clinical trial for patients suffering from mild cognitive impairment. Dr. Keren’s primary research interests lie in memory and aging, with a focus on Alzheimer’s disease.
