
Dr. Laura Gage is the Medical Director of the Geriatric and Neuropsychiatry Program at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores). She is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Her research interests revolve around epidemiology of psychiatric illness in older adults and delirium. Dr. Gage is currently involved in a research project titled “Adapting the National Guidelines on the Assessment and Treatment of Delirium in Older Adults to Palliative Care Settings” looking at treatment for delirium in palliative care. The project is in collaboration with two Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) funded by New Emerging Teams in Palliative Care and the Canadian Coalition of Seniors Mental Health (CCSMH). Dr. Gage is also the co-chair of a national committee for the “National Guidelines for Seniors Mental Health: Assessment and Treatment of Delirium”, a Canadian Coalition for Seniors’ Mental Health initiative funded by Health Canada.
